The App

Peersdom’s main product is the app shown in the slides towards the bottom.  On it, students may create learning sessions and chat with other students and with professionals.  Each user can create their own profile which displays the user’s name, school, location, and subjects he or she is good at.  Users can edit their profile based on what subjects he or she specializes in at and what school he or she goes to or what organization he or she works for.  Using a session-confirmation system, users can set up learning sessions in a way that both users involved can benefit.  The duration of each session where the user is the peer helper is always kept track of and aggregated to the total amount of helping hours a student has.  Students can also interact with professionals in order to gain professional advice, and professionals can interact with each other for advice and learning too.  Each student is part of a school, and each professional is part of an organization.  In order to have your hours spent helping other people approved, a school/organization administrator must verify them.
